Dumbwaiter spare parts: control board, contactor and wiring harness for ServLifts food lifts

Side Counterweight

A side counterweight dumbwaiter carries the balance weight beside the car instead of behind it. That layout needs a wider, shallower shaft, which makes it the natural fit for retrofit projects where the opening was cut into an existing wall rather than built to order. All eight models in this range run from 100kg to 250kg with a traction machine between 0.75kW and 1.5kW.

Car sizes start at 60x60x80cm for a two-floor restaurant or cafe and step up to 100x100x120cm for a 250kg service lift moving trolleys and bulk supplies. Because the weight travels alongside the car, the shaft stays shallow, so the landing door can sit closer to the kitchen wall than a rear counterweight layout allows.

Where the shaft is wide but shallow, this is the layout that fits without civil work. The minimum shaft size for each of the eight models is listed alongside the drawings, so you can check your opening against it before deciding.

If your shaft is deep but narrow, compare this range with our rear counterweight dumbwaiters. The full trade-off between the two layouts is explained in side counterweight vs rear counterweight, and you can request a free shaft drawing for any model through the contact page.
