Rear Counterweight

A rear counterweight dumbwaiter travels with the balance weight tucked behind the car. That arrangement keeps the shaft narrow, which is usually the deciding factor in older buildings where the available opening is fixed and every extra centimetre of width costs civil work. This range covers eight car sizes from 100kg to 250kg.

The same eight car sizes as our side counterweight series are available here, driven by 0.75kW to 1.5kW traction machines. Because the weight sits at the back, the shaft has to be deeper, but it stays slim front to back, so a service opening can be fitted into a corridor wall or a tight service riser without widening the structure.

One trade-off worth knowing before you order: a rear counterweight shaft is deeper, so it suits a service riser or a wall with space behind it rather than a shallow opening cut into an outside wall. Where depth is limited, the side layout is usually the better answer.
